I create abstract work intuitively, responding to daily life as it unfolds. Moods, sweeping thoughts, fragments of nature, architecture and pattern all find their way into my process. Each piece becomes an unplanned record of movement and emotion in presence.
I create with whatever materials are at my disposal - with colour playing a central role in my artwork. I am often drawn to bold, vibrant palettes. Sometimes softened by muted tones, sometimes disrupted by stark black and white pattern. These contrasting elements reflect the relationship between light and shadow within us. Trauma, memory and difficulty do not disappear in moments of joy; they sit alongside them, offering depth and contrast. The shadow is then seen as something necessary, in order to fully experience colour, vitality and aliveness.
My work is intentionally open to interpretation. I am less interested in telling the viewer what to feel, and more interested in inviting them into their own response. If a piece sparks curiosity, emotional recognition, or the simple urge to create, then my job is done!
I live in Cornwall and spend significant time in Manchester - Moving between coast and city, softness and structure. The contrast between these environments continually reshapes my inspiration, feeding both the calm and intensity that show up in my work.
At its core, my practice is both spiritual and therapeutic. Each piece carries time, attention and presence. I approach art as an offering of energy, feeling and honesty, trusting that what is created intuitively will find its way to those who need it.
